Fifty-six signed the document

Hancock used
goose feather quill
signed Declaration of Independence
Benjamin Franklin all hang together
scratch of feathers

Prompt at d’Verse Poets is to come fly with me. This poem popped into my head.

Tetractys, a poetic form invented by Ray Stebbing, consists of at least 5 lines of 1, 2, 3, 4, 10 syllables (total of 20). Tetractys can be written with more than one verse, but must follow suit with an inverted syllable count. Tetractys can also be reversed and written 10, 4, 3, 2, 1.

  1. Fun form…….good use of “feather.” Interesting isn’t it….the feather is such a delicate thing and yet when attached to a quill, has signed some of the most influential and strong documents in the world!
