everywhere pink

“The terror of darkness”

locked in a pit
no illumination
only fetid damp
and writhing worms
for companions

remember flowers
cerulean skies
tangy ozone
life bursting out
up, up, up

oubliette is external
a prison of man
built to forget

in my mind
live in the dark
waiting for the door
hearing nothing
seeing less

no escape
hope left long ago
desire followed
until now
only despair

blind to truth
they come
together lifting me
ladders of love

gnarled fingers slip
strong arms catch
weak soul rebels
soft lips coerce
everywhere pink
